Bachchhan Paandey is a Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala that was released in India in 2022. Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Arshad Warsi feature in the film. It's a remake of the Tamil film Jigarthanda from 2014, which was inspired by the South Korean film A Dirty Carnival from 2006.

The film was released in theaters on March 18, 2022, and it was a box office disaster, grossing 68.61 crore (US$24 million) on a budget of 182 crore (US$24 million).

A producer assigns Myra Devekar (Kriti Sanon) the responsibility of coming up with a captivating and violent mafia plot in order to make a film. To meet the producer's commercial ambitions and her desire to make a realistic film, she chooses to write a story based on the life of a real-life mobster. Her diligent study takes her to the fearsome one-eyed Bachchhan Paandey of Baagwa (Akshay Kumar), a violent criminal surrounded by eccentric yet terrifying henchmen.

Myra flies to Baagwa, where she meets up with her buddy Vishu (Arshad Warsi) and tells him about her Bachchhan Paandey film concept. Vishu becomes enraged and orders her to leave, but is eventually convinced to assist her with the film. In an attempt to get closer to Bachchhan Paandey, both Vishu and Myra begin to attack his henchmen. Paandey's previous lover Sophie (Jacqueline Fernandez) was slain by the former, according to Virgin, one of the thugs. Virgin is given a microphone by Vishnu and Myra in order to listen in on his chats with Paandey.

Virgin later betrays Paandey, but is apprehended and slain by him. Vishu and Myra use the microphone to listen in on the murder, but they are apprehended by Paandey's gang. Paandey sets out to assassinate Vishnu and Myra, but when he learns that Myra is producing a gangster film, he offers to spare them on the condition that he play the protagonist. Myra refuses at first, but Paandey kidnaps her producer, forcing Myra to listen to Paandey's past in order to construct the script.

Paandey works for a politician in the past. Following a fallout, the politician assassinates Paandey's former lover Sophie. Paandey kills the politician in the hospital as retribution.

Development

Bachchhan Paandey was going to be a remake of the Tamil film Veeram, but the producers changed the storyline to create something new. Bachchhan Paandey, on the other hand, is a remake of the Tamil film Jigarthanda, according to later sources.
